The male server was rude to a lot of customers, for some reason. We asked for the wifi password and were rudely rejected by the male server. I was pleasantly surprised.įor some reason, this restaurant doesn't have wifi. Big Georgian menu and very reasonably priced given it's in a touristy area. The place was right on the footpath next to the street so no easy access for wheelchairs.Ī Canadian Tourist Review: It's more like a 3.5/5. Pricing: Value for money was top, and prices were very acceptable knowing the quality and the taste.Ĭleanliness: Enough to make you comfortable.Īmenities/Facilities: Wifi is available but barely accessible from the section inside.Īccessibility: No parking in front, the sign wasn't so clear. For me the Khinkali was the best in town, the Khachapuri was outstanding, the quality of the food was amazing, and the salad was very tasty and fresh, especially with this cheese-crusted topping. Service: The staff was very friendly and well dressed (the managers didn't wear the same outfit which is misleading a bit but overall the service was very good.įood/Menu: It's a twisted Georgian cuisine, done in a very good way with a simple touch. Location: After the dry bridge (The used items market), right after radio coffee.Īmbiance: Low lights in the behind section area, which wasn't pleasant for us, but the section at the entrance was somehow elegant and modern. Considering the price range of this place very poor service. We will not be back nor will we recommend this place to anyone. Kinda felt like they were trying to get rid of us so we left without even finishing our wine. We felt rushed and unwelcome, as you will see from the receipt the waitress brought our bill at 23:31 saying they are closing (even though the restaurant advertises they are open till midnight). Hot food arrived barely warm, and some had tiny portions, but georgian salad was nice. We had to order salads as that's all they could make. So we got stuck - can't go somewhere else as we got some of the order on the table and can't have a full meal either. Waitress took our order and came back 20 minutes later with less than half of the food we ordered saying that a part of the kitchen is actually closed. Multiple staff members said we have 10min to order instead of welcoming us. We were coming after opera and therefore showed up for our reservation at 22:40. Pretty disappointing - we called in advance to check what time the kitchen closes and we're advised that last orders are taken at 11. This will forever be the first recommendation I give to anyone who tells me they are visiting Georgia. (Don’t forget to get a tour of the basement and private dining areas as well as the wine cellar!) My dessert was a chaotic and delicious assembly of homemade vanilla ice cream flavoured with lime, pineapple, apple, and coconut with marshmallows and white meringue dispersed throughout. It was bold, intense, very rich, and very memorable. The smoked steak (available on the day due to other items being unavailable) was a true statement piece, arriving in a smoking wooden box and carved table side, topped with a white wine sauce which was laid onto the plate with artistic finesse. I’ve never been so entranced by a tomato salad in my life, what the chef has managed to achieve with it is awe inspiring. I began my meal with some homemade lemonade flavoured with berries and herbs. The menu is an exploration of diverse Georgian flavours, changing seasonally, and each one is a statement. The live musical performance of Georgian folk music was the icing on the cake. It’s cozy, it’s perfectly lit and decorated, and easy to be comfortable. The setting is stunning, equal parts your grandmothers living room, ritz hotel, and ancient tavern. I’ve never experienced such intimate and attentive service in any restaurant in my life, it made me feel like I was royalty. The restaurant’s mission is extraordinary, the mission is fascinating, and the execution is perfect. You don’t need to try every restaurant in Georgia to know this is the very best the country has to offer.
